DE filter grid tore, now I'm getting powder blowback into the pool

One of my own grids ripped along a seam, didn't catch it till I saw white haze coming out the returns on my own pool of all places, figures. Pulled the tank apart and there's a two inch split near the top of one grid, rest of them look fine, only two seasons old.

Can I get away with patching that seam or is a torn grid just done for good. I've got a full set for the tank, thinking about just replacing the one but wondering if a torn one means the rest are close behind from the same batch. Anybody had luck patching versus just eating the cost on a full set. Not swapping to cartridge, don't start, I've got customers asking me that too and I still think DE filters better for the price around here.
