Anybody else fighting this right now. My gunite pool sits under some pines and I know pollen's part of it but I'm pulling that fine bag out every other day and it's just caked, cleaner starts riding weird once it fills up like that. Coarse bag would probably go longer but then I'm not catching the fine stuff that makes the water look hazy, that's the whole reason I switched to it.
I've tried rinsing it harder with the hose nozzle, tried letting it soak in a bucket first, doesn't really break up what's packed in there, feels like I need to just scrub it by hand every time which is a pain. Anyone found a rinse method that actually works or is this just a spring pollen tax I pay for a few weeks and then it calms down. Mine's been solid for four seasons otherwise, this is the first year the pollen's been this bad.

I run the Escape, not the Premier, so different filtration setup entirely, but I get the pollen tax every year off the pines two doors down, it dusts my cover before I even open. First two weeks of season my filter basket on the cleaner itself needs emptying almost daily, and that's just what settles before it ever gets fine enough to matter.
What you're describing with the bag caking solid in two days, that timeline sounds about right for what pollen does versus normal debris load, mine calms down noticeably by the third week of May like a switch flips. Not solving your rinse problem, just saying four seasons of clean bags then this happening to you the first time tracks with what pine pollen actually does versus everything else that comes through a filter.

No robot here so I can't speak to the bag itself, but pollen packed tight like that is basically pollen turning into a paste once it's wet, hosing it just pushes water through the same clogged mat instead of breaking it up. A buddy of mine with a similar setup swears by working a little dish soap into it before the rinse, cuts the film enough that the spray actually gets through instead of channeling.
