Little fella found something in the deep end I didn't know was down there

So the grandkids' robot has been doing its thing every few days like always, and Tuesday it comes up dragging a chunk of old hose clamp, rusted all to nothing. Been under my pool since who knows when, probably fell off some equipment back in the 90s when me and my brothers built the thing. Thirty years I been vacuuming that deep end by hand with a pole and never once snagged it, must've been wedged under the main drain cover.

Surprised me because I thought I knew every inch of that pool by now. Kind of humbling honestly. Little fella earned its keep again this week, I'll say that much. Makes me wonder what else is sitting down there I never found.

Rusted hose clamp wedged under the main drain cover for thirty years, that's a good find. My Dolphin's turned up a few surprises like that near the drain too, always something wedged in the one spot a pole and your arm can't quite reach.

Main drain cover's a blind spot for a pole no matter how long you've had the pool, thirty years or three. My Escape found a wire nut of all things down there a couple seasons back, still don't know where it came from.

Not so sure it's really a "blind spot" thing, Tom, I think it's more that main drain water flow just tucks debris up under that lip and it stays put no matter how good your reach is with a pole. Mine's dragged up a chunk of old skimmer basket clip from the same general area, three years running the Proteus through there and it finally worked it loose.
