Buying a cheaper robot now vs saving longer for the one i actually want

been going back and forth on this for weeks. i could grab something budget today and finally stop fighting my manual vac, or keep stacking cash for another month or two and get the Aiper Seagull 1000 i keep eyeballing. part of me says any robot beats what i got now, the other part remembers wasting money on a cheap suction cleaner that basically did nothing in the swamp days. anyone actually regret buying the budget option first, or did it hold you over fine until you upgraded. trying to decide if theres a real difference or if im just overthinking a robot vacuum at this point.

Not overthinking it, you already know the answer from the swamp cleaner, you just want someone to confirm it. Any robot beats manual vac is true short term but that logic is exactly how you end up buying twice.

Mine's a Dolphin Nautilus CC, five seasons now in Vegas sun, and the reason it lasted is I didn't buy the cheapest one that year, I bought the one I could stand looking at for five years. Wait the month or two for the Seagull if that's the one you actually want, holding over on a bad cheap unit usually costs more in frustration than the price difference does in cash.

Before you spend a dime, how bad is the algae and leaf situation in that swamp of yours.. mine just does a clean plaster pool with oak leaves so the little fella the grandkids got me has it easy, that's a different job than what you're describing.

Cheap suction cleaner failing you before don't mean much if the water conditions are rough, that'll bog down a pricier robot too if the filter's not built for it. Ones's been fine for me four seasons but I'd want to know what you're actually asking it to pick up before I said wait or don't.
