Little fella keeps getting stuck under the ladder, anybody else deal with this

Grandkids' robot has been solid all four seasons but this week it keeps working its way under the ladder on the shallow end and just sits there humming till the timer runs it dry. Pulled it out three times now, no damage, just wasting a cycle every time.

Mine's an old straight ladder, not the fancy loop kind, so there's not much clearance under there to begin with. Wondering if anybody's had luck just blocking that corner off somehow, or if I ought to be lifting the ladder out before I run it. Never had this problem with the pole and net obviously, but for a machine that's usually smarter than that it seems like an odd blind spot. Water's clear as ever otherwise, this is my only gripe with the thing.

Had almost this exact thing with the Dolphin E10 and my old ladder before I swapped it out for the loop style, it would nose in under there, get the bumper wedged against the bottom rung and just spin the drive wheels till the cycle ended. Never once damaged anything, just annoying finding it stuck every third run. What worked for me was less about blocking the corner and more just running it on a shorter cycle setting so if it did wander in there I wasn't losing a full hour to it. Lifting the ladder out before every run is probably the surest fix but I got lazy about it fast, four seasons in and your unit still being otherwise solid is honestly better odds than either of my machines gave me.
