Running the Nautilus every day vs every other day, still going back and forth

So ours has been on a daily schedule since we got it but ive been wondering if im just wearing it out for nothing. Kids are in the pool cannonballing pretty much every afternoon so debris isnt exactly light, but on the days its calmer out I could probably stretch it to every other day and let it rest. Battery life on the remote and the general wear has me thinking every other day might add a season or two onto it. But then I skip a day and the floor already looks like it needs it, especially with the oak we have near the yard. Anyone actually tracked how much difference it makes long term or am I overthinking a robot vacuum. Ours has been solid for a few years now so maybe im just paranoid about jinxing it, anyway curious what schedule everyone else runs theirs on.

Whoever said the motor's built to handle daily runs same as a pool pump running hours a day, that's right, it's not the cycling that kills these things nearly as much as what it's picking up. Mine runs the Proteus every day and three years in the only real wear has been the brush strips, nothing to do with how often it ran versus what it swept up.

What that take left out is the oak situation you mentioned, that's the real variable. We had a big oak drop on us before we put the screen cage up and I was running the cleaner daily just to keep ahead of it, and even then the floor looked rough some mornings. Once the cage went in the debris dropped off so much I could've gone every other day easy. If you've got exposed water under that oak, the schedule's less about babying the robot and more about matching whatever's falling in that week.

Good luck with it, swam this morning and the water was about as clean as it gets this time of year.

Chuck's point about brush strips over cycle count tracks with what I've seen, my Dolphin E10 is going on its fourth season running basically daily and the treads are the only thing that's actually degraded, wheels are a little slick now. Never worried about the motor itself.

FWIW I don't run any of mine on a fixed schedule anymore, I just eyeball the floor each morning since two of the three are wifi and I can kick one off from my phone before coffee. My Aiper Scuba S1 is the one that gets thrown in whenever, no thinking involved, that's kind of the whole point of it for me at this stage. Your oak debris is a different animal though, that's seasonal and probably deserves its own rule rather than an every day vs every other day answer either way.

No debris to speak of with my screen cage so I can't compare directly, but Dana, is the oak actually dropping leaves daily right now or is it more of a windy-day thing, seems like that'd tell you whether you need a real schedule at all versus just running it the mornings after a gust.
