Aquabot REVA Review

Is the REVA pool wizardry, or just great design?

Today, let's dive into the Aquabot REVA robotic pool cleaner. The REVA is one of the newest robotic pool cleaners on the market and includes a host of features found only on top-tier robots like the Dolphin Premier and Dolphin Sigma.

In this review, we will be exploring its pool coverage, filtration ability, and features and warranty. Let's dive in!

Pool Coverage

The first category is pool coverage, and the Aquabot REVA starts it out strong by being able to cover all of your pool, including your waterline. Once it was in the pool, the REVA got right to cleaning, and it navigated my pool efficiently, covering every inch of it.

The Aquabot REVA cleans the floor all the way to the waterline

Waterline cleaning is something only a few robotic pool cleaners, such as the Dolphin Quantum and Dolphin Premier, can actually do. My waterline is often the dirtiest part of my pool, and I bet it is yours too. That’s why if you want a truly hands off pool cleaner, waterline cleaning is an essential feature you need.

Along with waterline cleaning, REVA uses a planetary gear system, which gives it even more power and torque while reducing space and weight. This is a fantastic addition because it allows REVA to have more power and better cleaning ability than other robots in this price range.

This means REVA covers all of your pool and cleans it deeply thanks to a strong scrubbing brush, rubber tracks, planetary gears, and most surprisingly, a gyroscope.

Gyroscopes are a rare feature to find, even on the most expensive pool robots. I can only think of one other robot that has it, the Dolphin Sigma, so I was surprised to see it included on the REVA. The gyroscope monitors the REVA's position and balance, so it can climb your walls and stay at the waterline with ease. Without a gyroscope or stabilizer, it is hard for a pool robot to maintain its balance at the waterline.

The gyroscope helps maintain orientation in the pool

The REVA offers a gyroscope and waterline cleaning, at an unbeatable price, without compromising the rest of its cleaning ability. I was super impressed by the REVA here. So when it comes to pool coverage, I have to give the REVA a perfect 5/5. It does everything I want a robotic pool cleaner to do, especially clean the waterline, thanks to its gyroscope.

Filtration Ability

Next, let's dive into the Aquabot REVA's filtration ability. The REVA is once again a great value here through a unique solution: dual layer filtration. Many other mid-tier robotic pool cleaners only include the standard fine filter type, which can get most of the debris you need to, but it lacks the ability to clear up cloudy water. Cloudy pool water is a common pool problem, which is why some units, such as the Dolphin Quantum, include an NanoFilter to capture all those small particles that cloud your water.

The REVA may not include the NanoFilter we are used to, but it does include a dual layered standard filter. This dual layer system acts the same as an NanoFilter and a standard filter if you remove the second layer. So there is no issue with your cloudy pool water or your average pool clean, so you can ensure your pool stays clean, no matter what its issues are. For this reason, I have to give the REVA a 4/5 in filtration.

It loses a point because the NanoFilter does do a better job of filtering microscopic particles, and the second layer does give the REVA less room for smaller debris if you leave it in all the time. It doesn't quite have the amount of filter options that you see in the Dolphin Premier, which has the most of any robot I tested at 4 filter options, but it does a solid job cleaning the pool.

Features and Warranty

Finally, there is the features and warranty category. What I would like to highlight here is another key piece of pool cleaning: app connectivity.

Once you reach mid-tier cleaners, programmable timers become the standard, as they allow you to easily schedule cleanings for a hands-off experience. These are great, but I can be a little lazy sometimes, and I prefer being able to control my robot without ever going outside through an app. Aquabot REVA is the least expensive robot I've seen with an app. This is huge, as an app is a feature I really enjoy. The REVA's app allows you to schedule cleanings, delay starts, and even control the robot.

The REVA comes with an 2 year warranty. For these reasons, I award the REVA a 4.5/5 in feature set and warranty.

Conclusion

Wrapping it all up, the Aquabot REVA scores a 9/10 overall, placing it at the top of my pool cleaner list. The REVA is an amazingly designed robotic pool cleaner that will clean all of your pool and do it with the least amount of effort on your end, as you can control it all from your phone. I still don't understand how they fit so many features into a lower price, without cutting any corners, but I am happy they did.
