We hired the Paver Guys to help us rebuild our huge retaining wall and accompanying trail/walkway up the hill in our yard. The stairs were uneven and path had worn away and even though my family loves the view I felt it was no longer safe for them to venture up there. Brian and his team addressed all our safety concerns and rebuilt the wall the right way. Not only is our retaining wall safe and even but it looks a million times better as well. We were finally going to get our backyard remodeled. We received proposals from many paver and pool contractors. We selected TPG because their owner, Brian Schmidt, spent much time with us. He submitted a plan (drawing) and could do the entire project, including the pool. He admitted being more expensive and made up for that with quality and attention to detail. We had a great experience working with The Paver Guys, and we highly recommend the company. Brian, the owner, was a true partner. He worked with us in lockstep throughout the entire project, and helped us envision how we wanted live in our outdoor space, and create design to support that vision. As with any project, of course, there were some challenges and delays along the way. However, what really matters is how these issues are handled. Brian Schmidt and his crew did an excellent job on restoring my 60 foot in diameter round pen I use for my horses. I met him by chance on a Wednesday at MacAlvey's Nursery in Martinez while I was ordering sand for my round pen. He overheard my dilemma and offered solutions. He came to my property the same day I shared with him my challenge. The next day he and his lead supervisor were out explaining what needed to be done and how to approach the challenge. Out of all the bids we received, Brian (owner, with wife Donna) included more detail and added design than any other bid. Our project was a patio, gas fire pit, sitting wall bench, seal new patio (also cleaned and resealed my existing 18 month old patio), sod lawn with irrigation, plus area lighting and The Paver Guys were able to do it all. They started on time, stayed on budget (no surprise costs), and finished when promised, which was huge to us because we needed to use the space the day after promised. Brian and his team designed; purchased materials; installed and continues to maintain our 360 yard (front, back, sides). Brian and his team worked quickly and efficiently bringing our ideas to life. He offered cost and time efficiencies when requested which was very helpful for us as we were first time home owners and this was our first project.
