Anyone actually flush a cartridge filter with something other than a hose

Cartridge filter, pleats keep loading up with calcium film faster than a hose rinse can knock out. I soak in acid now and then but that's a whole production, has to fully dry after or I'm just redepositing scale back onto wet pleats.

Seeing ads for these filter cleaner sprays, spray on before you hose it off. Skeptical, this is exactly the kind of miracle product that does nothing on 400 ppm fill water. But maybe it's fine for regular dirt and I'm overthinking it because my mind goes straight to scale on everything.

Anyone used one of these sprays and actually seen a pressure drop after, or is it just soap and marketing. Not trying to replace the acid soak, just want the hose rinse to do more between soaks so I'm not pulling the cartridges every few weeks.

Whoever said the sprays are mostly for oil and body lotion residue not mineral scale is right, that matches what I've seen. Our fill water out here runs hard too, and no spray touched the calcium film, only the acid soak actually breaks that bond loose.

One thing that thread left out, letting pleats dry fully before the acid dip matters way more than people think. I used to soak wet cartridges straight from the pool and just redeposit scale like Karen said, now I hose first, let em dry a day in the shade, then soak. Cuts my soak frequency down some, though nothing stretches it past maybe 6-8 weeks in this heat.
