We just completed a recent remodeling of our house in Chevy Chase to turn an unfinished basement into an in-law suite. This included creating space for 2 rooms, redoing the bathroom, enclosing the laundry/machine area and creating a modern kitchen. The Blue Collar Scholars team designed and built two beautiful permeable flagstone walkways for the front of our home. The experience was first rate from our very first call until we paid the final bill. The communication was excellent and the team was punctual, flexible and friendly. The hardest thing to do nowadays is find people who are actually good at what they do. People who care, spend attention on what matters and follow through on what they say they are going to do. This is especially true in the contracting world. I cannot give enough of a glowing recommendation throughout the entire design and remodeling process that blue collar scholars provided. UPDATING AFTER THEIR RESPONSE- BCS sent me a General Liability COI, that was going to expire during the project and DID NOT include Workman's Comp. I confirmed they would provide a current Gen. Liability COI before the first one expired so the project would not be interrupted. I also pointed out that it did not include WC and requested a WC COI since searchable state databases listed a different insurance company. The contractor that we hired during spring to complete our screened in porch and new patio began to completely ghost us throughout March and April. We were in somewhat of a bind, and we looked on Google and found blue collar scholars. It turns out that the original contractor got the wrong permit, and we had to redo the permitting process and within two months they obtained the permit and began work promptly.
