Dan was INCREDIBLY helpful and provided detailed plans for our DIY fireplace. His Instagram page is very inspiring -lots of examples of plans and finished projects! It’s hard work and takes time but we are absolutely loving our new fireplace. We built ours to run on propane gas or wood burning. Thank you Dan for all your help!!!
Backyard Flare LLC, is amazing. I am new to the home owner world and wanted to enhance my yard with a fireplace and outdoor kitchen. The plans were a breeze to follow, Dan was always available with expert advice on what materials and techniques I could use when hardware stores were experiencing supply chain issues. I am forever grateful for his company. I recommend Backyard flare to anyone who has the urge to tackle amazing masonry DIY projects.
Dan customized our fireplace plan within a week. He is so personable and fantastic to work with and always available along the way. My husband had no masonry experience at all and was able to complete in about 4 weekends. You will not find a better value anywhere else. We saved thousands of dollars purchasing Dan's DIY step by step plans. If we can do it anyone can!!
Dan was great throughout the build process. I can't believe how much time he was willing to spend with me after buying the plans. It was easy to adapt his blueprint to fit a different size space. The approach and organization of the plans made it easy to follow. I highly recommend his system to anyone looking to DIY a fireplace.
We bought our plans and received them via email immediately. Dan was quick to respond to a question we had. The plans were easy to read and understand. This is the first masonry project we did and it went very well. We would highly recommend using Backyard Flare!!

I've been waiting a few years to finally buy a set of plans....I combed through them after I printed them off and while a few things may be a bit challenging for an amateur like myself, they are detailed enough for me to get done. I emailed a question and the gentleman that operates this place is very helpful and very quick in response. For any future builds like this I will definitely use this place.
Dan is absolutely top notch, had a small issue while I was constructing my fireplace and called on a Saturday morning and he returned my call same day and helped me out ! The plans were comprehensive and clear well worth the money
