The pool pricing in Cocoa Beach FL was quite high post Covid. After doing a lot of research and speaking with others that used a pool contracter, I decided to act as the homeowner/builder for my pool. As an engineer I drafted the general shape and features that I wanted in my pool and provided it to the DIY team. They took that concept and turned it into reality... it looks awesome!!! DIY Pools & Spas has been great so far. I am just getting started so don't have the pool done yet, but to date they have been very helpful, the renderings are exactly what I wanted & look fantastic. Answered all my questions & were even ok when I had to pause because I needed to save more money to get what I wanted. So far, so good...keep you posted! See renderings attached.

The process works but is not for everyone. Great help with engineering drawings, backyard conceptual pictures guidance through the permitting process. I got estimates of $80,000 for a basic concrete box. My son and I installed a 18'x33' oval semi-inground with water heater, framed deck and screened enclosure for under $45,000.

I am VERY unhappy with DIY. I paid the large fee upfront, I think $4k-$5k for the design and support. All we received was a dream and some videos. We worked on the rendering and had to go back and forth a few times. Each time, 5-10 day turn around. After 7-8 weeks, we finally had the rendering of what we wanted. I knew I would need a geotechnical report, so I paid $1900 for the souls report - which DIY had nothing to do with. After they sent the design over to their engineering team, it comes back…sorry, this is too large or complex. They actually offered for me to find my own engineer…

Heads up folks. No refund after 30 days. I went 21 days over. Never accepted final draft. Never pulled permits or involved engineering. If you use these guys do your homework and be ready to roll. Time is money for real. I ended my program and went with a competitor. They start next week. I have no doubts DIY knows what they are doing. They seem like a nice family. Good companies don't refund, GREAT companies do. Lastly all pool companies will give you a 3D rendering of your pool project. The difference is you won't be charged $2900 dollars for it. Pool projects cost a lot of money. More time …

I cannot say enough positive things about both the product and the team behind this program. It truly makes what can feel like an overwhelming project feel completely doable for homeowners like me willing to take it on. I joined the program with the intention of building our own pool for a new home. I’ve used Brandon on a total of 3 pools. The engineered plans are very precise, allowing plan check with the public agency fast and clear. As well utilized some of the subcontractors this process works very well and is detailed. Thanks JN
