Don’t fall for their instagram presence like I did. They will over promise, over charge, and under deliver. A simple 9x18 pool will take them over 7 months to fully complete from excavation (Nov 2025). Your project will not be a priority because all their resources go to their other company, Modul Pools, that claims to “build a pool in 6 weeks or less”. If you hire OC Poolscapes, you will have to project manage their project managers to get them to do anything. If not, communication will be nonexistent. The owner, Malkiel, was very hands-on throughout the entire process, making sure every detail was done right. He addressed all my concerns immediately. If you're reading this, you obviously are looking or considering putting in a new pool. Outside of buying a house, this is most likely the largest purchase of our lives. It's scary, and exciting all at the same time. We hear horror stories about pool builders digging a hole and then disappearing for months. I first contacted a smaller builder who recently did a friends pool that turned out nice. The rendering came back and asked to make a few changes and all of the sudden the builder went quiet. Our pool project is now roughly nine months behind schedule, and the current phase has been at a standstill for closer to three months with no progress. For context, our contract was signed in January 2025 and stated that the project would be completed within 20 weeks of excavation, which after months of delay finally began on April 1, 2025 (so should have completed in August 2025). We hired OC Poolscapes to build a pool and backyard project at our home.. Unfortunately, our experience with the company was extremely disappointing and became one of the most difficult contractor experiences our family has gone through. Our contract stated the project would take approximately 20 weeks from excavation. Excavation began in April 2025, and the project was ultimately not completed until March 2026, roughly 54 weeks later. After our deck pour, progress on the project slowed dramatically. Never hire this company! They dug up our yard without the required dial to dig. Then they hit a cable and refused to negotiate with the utility company claiming it wasn’t their fault! Outrageous behavior and their only response to us was that it wasn’t their fault. Seriously? We are now being sued by the utility company because this company doesn’t even have insurance! Stay far far away!

Updating my review again because unfortunately the problems with scheduling, communication, and follow-through are continuing. After I posted my original review, the company suddenly became responsive and immediately scheduled the mini pebble installation, which has now been completed. Overall, the finish looks good, although there are still issues I am monitoring and additional corrections that remain outstanding.
