Pulled the bond wire clamp off my ladder, wasn't expecting that much corrosion

Been out here four seasons with the same setup, feet in the tub tonight typing this actually, and today I finally popped the clamp off my ladder bond wire just to check it since I had the multimeter out for something else. Green crust all over the copper under there, still reads continuity fine but it surprised me how much it had built up without me ever noticing from the outside. San Antonio humidity plus pool splash I guess.

Didn't expect to be doing maintenance on the safety stuff, always thought of that as a set it and forget it kind of thing after the electrician hooked it up. Gonna clean it and hit it with some dielectric grease. Anybody else actually inspect their bonding wire regular or is it just me being paranoid because of the old day job.

Pulled mine off two winters back before putting her to bed and had that same green crust, up here in Ohio it's not humidity like your case but the splash and snow melt does the same thing over time, cleaned it up with a wire brush and a dab of grease and it's been fine since, so no you ain't paranoid, that stuff needs a look every year or two even if the meter says it's happy.
