Joel Boyer and Unique Decks were a godsend. We decided to redo our garage top deck in Summer 2025. My friend just finished having a phenomenal deck built so of course I had to follow suit. Working with Joel and Unique Deck Builders has been one of the best construction project experiences we're ever experienced. We had to have our deck torn apart and removed to fix a bad roof on a small condo building in Chicago. Joel removed the existing deck and salvaged as much of the materials (mostly outdoor kitchen equipment) as possible, and then entirely rebuilt our rooftop with new Deckorators composite decking and the salvaged items. While Joel is nice, he lacks the most basic communication skills. I started the proposal process in early March. From missed appointments to not returning emails, I’m moving on to someone who wants my business. Being “too busy” is not want I want to hear.
