The salesman Jack was knowledgable and designed a beautiful pool. Kristin in the office was very helpful going out of her way to meet me at tile places to help pick out tile and coping. Austin Pool Designs built a quality pool that has been enjoyed by many.

Austin Pool Designs worked with us every step of the way from the design to the build. They listened to every idea and concern. It turned out amazing and we are so happy with our project.

My wife and I had our pool installed by Austin Pool Designs and we were initially happy with the completed project. Our pool is around two years old and we started to notice cracking around various parts of the pool about a year to year and half after install. The cracks with both inside of the pool, around the lueder stone, and exterior of the pool. We initially contacted Austin Pool Design, who acknowledged the broken stones and some of the cracking on the exterior of the pool. This was around Feb 2024. They didn't fix the problems until July 2024. When they fixed the stones, I spent a week cleaning concrete dust out of my pool. They also had to be called back out to finish the job because they missed half of the items. I've been too accommodating with this process in trying to come to a reasonable solution by working with them and expecting, in good faith, they would stand behind their work. The first thing that started to worry me about the process is that no one from the company would actually meet with me face to face when they came to inspect the property to inspect the damage. I thought was odd because if you are a company doing warranty work on the structure of a pool, you would want someone to point out the problems, discuss how you are going to handle them, etc... Someone would just show up from Austin Pool Designs, walk in the backyard, and then I would get a follow up a few weeks later with a determination of how they were going to handle the problems. I was happy they initially took responsibility and fixed some of the stone. Within two weeks of the stones being fixed, other cracks started to form and different lueder stones cracked around the pool. The interior cracks started to spread more. I followed back up with Austin Pool Design, which they acknowledged and told me they would look at the damage and assess the situation. Yesterday, I received an email response from the owner via his secretary. The title was re: Alkali Silica Reaction (ASR) aka "concrete cancer." For those reading this that aren't familiar, ASR is a problem that is plaguing pools that were installed in Central Texas primarily between 2017-2021. Long story short, the owner told me he "suspects" that my pool suffers from concrete cancer and there is no fix to the problem. He placed the blame on the supplier of concrete that was used to form the pool and patio. There was a nice "sorry about your luck" response but "I've been doing this 30 years and we've never seen this, I use the best contractors, etc..." I was instructed that I need to hire a structural engineer to assess the damage of my pool (at a cost to me obviously,) and then would need to work with that engineer to see if the pool can be fixed, or has to be demolished and rebuilt. I was also given the insurance company name of Austin Pool Designs and the subcontractor's insurance company that supplied the concrete. I was also sent a Youtube video with people who are complaining about how big of a problem this is in Central Texas. I've already tried to contact the insurance adjuster for the insurance company of the concrete sub contractor to file a claim. Come to find out that person is no longer with the insurance company, and I get an returned email. The only way to know if your pool truly has ASR, and the extent of that damage, is to do an expensive test drilling into the pool to sample the concrete. My expectation was at a minimum Austin Pool Designs would verify that I actually have ASR by paying for the testing, and we work through the process of fixing the damage areas that they are responsible for. They (Austin Pool Designs) aren't accepting responsibility to fix an obvious issue they are responsible for by using a bad subcontractor. The sub contractors that supplied this concrete are not responding to anyone. We are definitely in a very frustrating and expensive position. Hopefully this review saves people from the headaches we are experiencing from a company that will take your money, but not stand behind the installed product.

Austin Water Designs did a fantastic job from start to finish with our pool/outdoor living project. From the start, Jack (designer) was very responsive, informative, and talented at helping us piece together our dream pool. AWD finished our project quickly and efficiently with constant communication along the way. They helped us in all of our design choices, which led to a final product that exceeded our expectations. Our construction manager, Bruce, was so quick to get back to us on any questions we had and always let us know when new crews would be coming out and broke down for us what each crew would be doing. Bruce put a lot of effort and care into our project and we couldn't ask for anything more. Kristin helped assist us in our design options and really put our minds at ease along the way. It can be a daunting task to choose from all of the tile, coping, decking, and plaster options, but Kristin helped guide us to what we were envisioning. She gave her honest opinion along the way, which was very helpful and ultimately led us to our final product. Thank you, Kristin, for all of your help! Ned helped us on the electrical side, as well as with our pool school class at the end of construction. To this day, Ned is still quick to respond and incredibly helpful post-construction. AWD's attention to detail and customer service sets them apart from the rest of the pack. If you are looking to build a high quality pool that will last a lifetime, choose a company that wants you to have the pool of your dreams and isn't just trying to acquire a new client. Choose Austin Water Designs, you will be very glad that you did! Thank you for helping us bring our dream pool to life, Austin Water Designs!

We have a very tricky lot to put a pool on--steep grade, very rocky, hard to get to. We had three other designers submit designs to us, and no one wanted to build the pool the we wanted--everyone of them tried to convince us to do something else, until we met David at AWD. He designed the pool and outdoor living space of our dreams, and then Mark and Ned and Teresa and the construction crews built it, and it turned out beyond our expectations. To say that it has changed the quality of our lives is a huge understatement. I have recommended AWD to three other friends that are considering building a pool and outdoor living area with hesitation. They are truly the best!
